The aim of the Students' union is to strive for the best in academic and extracurricular activities. The members should see to it that the activities of the Students' union conform to the rules and regulations prescribed by the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Chennai. All the students are the members of the Students' Union.
1. The General Council (GC) of the students' Union consists of the following members. The President (Principal), Vice Principal, Staff Advisors, Chairman, Secretary, First arts Secretary, the lady representatives, Secretaries of the Language Associations and the nominated members. The Chairman, Secretary, Fine arts secretary are elected from the final years of UG degree Class by all students of the college.
2. The class representatives are elected by their respective classes. Two lady representatives are elected from among the lady students of final years UG degree classes by all lady students of the college.
3. The Principal is the ex-officio President of the students union. The staff advisors and the treasurer shall be nominated by the Principal.
4. Student union shall strive only for the welfare of the students. It shall, with the permission of the Principal, organize meetings and other activities to tap the hidden talents in the students.
5. On no ground the students union can pass a resolution , that affects the fundamental rules and regulations of the college.
6. Any problem arising out of the student community should be settled only through peaceful methods and not through any agitative method. All negotiations should be done only through the staff advisors.
7. The resolutions passed by the students union are only proposals. And those proposals have validity only if they are approved by the Principal. The Principal is the final authority in approving any proposal mooted by the Students' union..
